Discussion:
Victoria: This is an awful movie ! In a good way! Or not in a good way, because it's a terrible story, but it's made in a really good and "real" way, I'd say!
Ninnie: Agree! It makes you so mad and I think everone did a great job acting wise!
Victoria: Right?! While I was watching it I was so frustrated at the situation and the girl, but I could totally understand how she felt also. When you think about the fact that these things are happening every day all over the World it makes me so angry! And the fact that it made me think so much about these things IRL is a sign that the movie really got to you!
Ninnie: Oh yes! I build up this hatred for that a**hole! Bad thing Victoria?
Victoria: Hmm.. Well someone might say that it is a bad thing that you get so angry with the movie, but I don't see it as a bad thing, otherwise I really can't think of anything that is bad-bad. Something really good, on the other hand, is one of Clive Owens last scenes where he cries, and he literally tears my heart apart. It's so emotional that even I almost started crying (and I'm NOT someone who cries in movies). Thumbs up for Owens acting.
Ninnie: Yes Omg, Clive is an awesome actor, and the scene you just mentioned is AMAZING!
Sum up: Great, emotional and frustrating movie. If you're looking for something intense and dramatic this is a must-see!

Plot: 26 strangers get the opportunity to be a part of a well-paid study of human behaviors where they have to spend 2 weeks as prisoners and guardians in a simulated prison environment. The experiment ultimately spirals out of control.
Discussion:
Ninnie: Let me just say Wow!
Victoria: Let me just say Wow as well. Really, really good movie. It made your mind blow. You get so frustrated while watching it and you do not want to stop watching it. That's how good it is.
Ninnie: Indeed! Actors are great! It's a psychological movie and I really like those!
Victoria: Yes. Would you say that this is a "viewers discretion advised" kind of movie? Who should and should not watch The Experiment?
Ninnie: People who like psychological movies and likes to see how normal people react under these circumstances. If you can't stand to get mad and frustrated because of a movie you shouldn't watch it.
Bad thing?
Victoria: Personally, I cannot think of anything. It's a too good and captivating movie to contain anything bad.

Life as we know it
Title: Life as we know it
Genre: Drama, Comedy
Release: May 11, 2011 (DVD Sweden)
Actors: Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel
Plot: Holly and Messer are two single people with very different lifestyles. Unfortunately their mutual best friends dies in a car accident, and leaves Holly and Messer to become caregivers to their daughter, together.
Discussion:
Ninnie: I found this movie very entertaining and cute!
Victoria: I adored this movie ! It's so neat ! I mean, I thought Life As We Know It would be just like the average romantic comedy, but it had that "little extra" a movie needs to have to be slightly better than the rest in this genre.
Ninnie: True. They're both great actors and Josh Duhamel is great for this part, a tough but still soft guy.Heigl is alor great for her part. Do you think this is like similar to any other movie?
Victoria: I can't put a name on a movie it would be similar to, but it feels like it is. I do think it's a little different with the baby story and all that, and it's a pretty obvious movie, but all a long it's very emotional. My sister cried a little ^^ Is it more of a chick flick than a guys movie?
Ninnie: Hm? In a way yes. But I think that a mature guy would like this, the kind of guy who wants a family in some way, some day. But yes I do believe it's more of a movie for women, but to all you guys out there, it is funny and interesting! What do you say,Victoria?
Victoria: Yeah it's a chick flick, but like you say, if guys like those kinds of movies they will like this one too!
Sum up: A cute and entertaining romantic/drama comedy movie that is slightly better than the average chick flick.

Genre: Biography, Drama, History
Release: February 23rd, 2011 (DVD, Sweden)
Actors: Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake
Plot: How did Facebook start..?
Discussion:
Ninnie: Very interesting! If you use facebook on a daily basis you have to see this one. Or well not really have to but I found it very interestingVictoria: I thought it was really good. They really made it interesting and "dramatic/drama-filled" (not sure how exaggerated it is compared to reality, but still, it's good for the movie). I liked Jesse (the main character, and he who played the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg).
Ninnie: Me too! I like how "quick" all the lines are. I don't think you'll like it unless you use facebook. What do you say?
Victoria: No, I think you need to be on facebook, and like know about it and stuff. I do think most people do, but yeah. It will be much more interesting for a facebook user, for sure. Was there anything you didn't like about it?
Ninnie: Hm? I feel like I should have something to say about that but Hm? Help me.
Victoria: I know, I'm thinking the same. It's not a perfect movie, but I really can't think of anything bad about it. What does that tell you....? Hehe.
Ninnie: Totally. Maybe the fact that it wasn't very funny nor exciting. Only interesting. Also, some movies you can definitely tell it's based on a real story, and not in a good way. And this is one of them. Do you know whay mean? It's like a very long process that has been squeezed into like 2 hours.
Victoria: Yes, true. I think I would only say that reason if I really HAD to say something negative about it, though. But I definitely get what you mean.
Ninnie: Exactly!
Sum up: Interesting story and a movie we would recommend to someone who would like to know the background to Facebook.

Four Lions
Title: Four Lions
Genre: Comedy, Drama
Release: In the Movie Theaters Feb 4th (Sweden)
Actors: Riz Ahmed, Arsher Ali, Nigel Lindsay, Kayvan Novak, Adeel Akhtar
Plot: Four Lions follows 4 British jihadists, each with their own unique character, who decides to become suicide bombers.
Discussion:
Ninnie: Ok I sort off don't know what to think about this movie. Do I like it or not? Victora, you seemed to enjoy it anyway.
Victoria: Haha, yes I did. I thought they made it pretty hilarious with their clumsyness. Even though it is a quite serious thing we are talking about here I think the director, Christopher Morris, managed to take the seriousness out and only focus on finding something fun about it.
Ninnie: Yes definitely. I had a really hard time enjoying it. I did laugh from time to time but mostly I just thought of how serious this actually is. It's kind of lame to think that way since almost every movie contains things that could and have happened in reality, but I did anyway. You have to have a open mind to this one as you say.
Victoria: True. I kinda think that this is a movie that you either love (like a lot) or hate (really dislike). I'm sure it will make the audience talk and discuss the matter and the movie. I'm also sure it will be discussions in the media about it as well.
Ninnie: Well I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. So, no Victoria that's not right Haha. I liked it in some parts and disliked it in other.
Victoria: I don't mean it that way, I just mean that either you have a more positive attitude against it or a negative. You seem to be more negative about it, than -in this case- me. So who do you think should watch Four Lions?
Ninnie: Ok fine. Yes, I believe I do.
Hm? Well, not the too serious ones anyway. As for me, I don't regret watching it. If I would have the option to choose to watch it again for the first time (despite knowing that I won't find it THAT good) I would. Hm? I have a hard time saying who should and who shouldn't. Help me Victoria.
Victoria: I hear ya, it is hard. In some way I feel that anyone can watch it- since I think people are going to think so differently about it. I'd say if you like humor about people being clumsy and don't take movies toooo seriously, you will find Four Lions funny. If that's not your thing- well I think you could still give it a try, but then this is not a "must-see" for you.
Ninnie: True, very true. Ok, so I just watched it again in my head, and when I think about the funny parts I realize that it's really funny! Excluding the seriousness.
Sum up: Funny movie about a serious matter. Might not be appropriate to a younger audience. Very special movie, not like any other.

New York, I Love you

Genre: Drama, Romance
Release: December 29, 2010 (DVD Sweden)
Actors: Bradley Cooper, Andy Garcia, Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Natalie Portman, Orlando Bloom, Christina Ricci
Plot: A story of several couples living in New York.
Discussion:
Ninnie: Okay, seriously what's up with this movie?! This is a typical example of a movie where the director just chooses all these famous actors and make a movie which is not good at all.
Victoria: Bo-oo-rii-iing. Boring. Throughout the movie I was just waiting for something to happen. Nothing did. I don't really understand the purpose of New York, I love you.
Ninnie: Me neither. I mean the stories are not even interesting! You don't get any feeling about any of the characters, they're just there, and then they're not. It's like an unfinished story. Maybe that's the point? But it's a waste of time.
Victoria: Totally. Judging by the cover I was hoping this would be a nice movie about cute couples living in NY, but it doesn't even bring out the nice things with the Big Apple. Will someone like this movie- you think? And who, in that case?
Ninnie: Hm? Maybe someone who likes studying others relationship, but there sure ain't a lot of time for that. So, no? But sure there's someone who's gonna like it.The only thing I kind of liked was the "story" about the old couple, it was cute.
Victoria: I would not recommend it to anyone, actually.
Sum up: Big waste of time for viewers, big waste of money for the makers and a waste of time and effort from the good actors in it.

Ninnie: This is a really interesting story!
Victoria: Very touching ! If you usually cry to movies you will definitely cry to this one!
Ninnie: Hm? Like okay, you might think it's slightly more touching than I do, but sure, it is touching and it won't leave you without feeling her pain.Victoria: Yeah. What do you think was especially good about it?
Ninnie: The fact that it's based on a true story and that it feels really real. Bad?Victoria: I can't think of much, but if I should mention something I guess that would be that there's not really a lot of "changes" or huge events happening, everything is very "even" throughout the movie.....?

He suffers from Aspergers, obesity, anxiety and a lot of other mental illnesses. They continue writing year after year and learn about each others problems.
Discussion:
Victoria: I thought it was a cute movie ! And that it was made in clay was cool, kinda like Wallace & Gromit.
Ninnie: Yes I really liked that Marys story was in sepia and Max's black and white and some small colored details. It made it personal. What did you think about the story itself?
Victoria: The story was interesting, I thought they made it really good. This is not like anything (kinda) you've seen before- it's always nice to watch something different.
Ninnie: Yes true! Some people might find it dull, but I really enjoyed it. Laughed a few times and I was really sympathizing with them.
Victoria: Yeah. It's a weird yet very interesting movie, and I was really "stuck" in it and was interested in how it would end- would they ever meet and how etc?
Ninnie: Anything bad?
Victoria: If you're really tired it is very easy to fall asleep while watching it since it is very gray and slow in a way.

Discussion:
Victoria: The story blew me away.
Ninnie: Totally! And I cant believe how a 10 (about 10) year old could be such a great actress! Incredible!
Victoria: Dakota Fanning does a fantastic job- there's no doubt about that! This movie is close to 2h30min, but I can honestly say it was interesting all through those 150 minutes.
Ninnie: Indeed! I love the way they've cut every scene and the light settings is great too.
Victoria: Yes, everything is so nicely made, the colors, the pictures, the actors and characters and the story. Man On Fire was requested by one of our readers and I believe I can say that I really loved this movie. I don't cry to movies, but if I would, I'd cry my heart out in the end.
Ninnie: Yes I loved it too. Victoria was there anything you disliked?
Victoria: Not really, to be honest. What about you?
Ninnie: Hm? Some might be disappointed that the action starts after about an hour, but personally I think it's fine the way it is.
Victoria: But then again- how often does the action start right away in a movie? Was the movie predictable?

Title: Youth in Revolt
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
Release: October 13th (DVD, Sweden)
Actors: Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday, Jean Smart
Plot: Nick Twisp, a teenage boy, who meets a girl and falls inlove. She wants him to be more of a rebel, which he's not. He creates an alter ego and changes his lifestyle drastically.
Discussion:
Victoria: The thing is I'm always gonna like a movie when Micheal Cera is in it (one exception- Year One). But I just love him. If Ninnie has a crush on the Adam character in the movie "Adam", I have a crush on Micheal Cera. Haha.
Ninnie: I hear you! Like if Micheal Cera hadn't had a part in this movie I would have thought that this was just a typical highschool American Pie kind of movie. But Micheal Cera changed my opinion.
Victoria: Yeah, I do think though- that even if Cera wouldn't have been in this one it would still be better than an American Pie movie. I just love Micheals ability to play such an innocent guy (kinda the way you "know" him), and in this movie I loved how he showed that he also can play a "badass".
Ninnie: The acting performance from the rest of the cast was nothing major and not very impressive, but not bad.
Victoria: True. I really like this movie- I'm not sure if I like it this much just because it's with M.C, but I think it's a funny movie!
Ninnie: Yes I agree. Who should and who shouldn't watch it?

Ninnie: Yes that's true! Acting?

Invictus
Title: Invictus
Genre: Drama
Release: August 25th (DVD, Sweden)
Actors: Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon
Plot: The movie tells the biographical story of Nelson Mandela and how he, together with the captain of the South African Rugby team tries to unite the country.
Discussion:
Victoria: Well, I watched this one alone, so I guess I'll have my own discussion here. I am not the biggest political fan ever, nor do I care much for the sport of rugby. But this movie does have something else than that. The story itself, and knowing the background to it makes it special. Morgan Freeman does an extraordinary performance of Nelson Mandela (what else can you expect? And who else would be more suitable to play this part better than just Freeman.).
Ninnie: What was bad and good about it?
Victoria: Well, the bad part is just personal for me, and that's the fact that it contains two of the things that I'm not all that hype about- politics and rugby. It is also a quite long movie, and although it is pretty interesting through out it all, it does feel rather long.
Good about it is obviously the acting and performance of Freeman. Matt Damon does a good job too.
Victoria: I think that this is a movie you should watch when you know you will REALLY watch a movie and pay attention to it, otherwise it won't be good at all.
I like the African music in it !

Release: March 10, 2010
Actors: Hugh Dancy, Rose Byrne,
Plot: Adam is a loner, and doesn't really know how to be social. He has a disease called Asperger's Syndrome. He meets this girl, and he is "forced" into being around people.
Discussion:
Victoria: It's a very "cute" movie.
Ninnie: Oh yes. I kind of fell inlove with Adam (not very serious) Hugh Dancy was perfect for this role. He did an extraordinary performance!
Victoria: I agree. About the movie itself- it wasn't all that exciting. A little slow. An OK story, but nothing magnificent.
Ninnie: I disagree with you a little. Maybe it was a little slow, but I was really caught up by it and hardly noticed it.
Victoria: That's because you were caught up with your love for Adam. Haha.
Ninnie: Haha, nooo. It was the story that really got to me.
Victoria: It's an OK drama movie.
Ninnie: Wait, wait Victoria, let me just stop you for a second. I think you've forgotten how good and interesting it actually was. Because you seemed a little more into it just after we watched it.
Victoria: Hmm. Maybe. But wouldn't I have remembered it if it were that special- and again, it's not a bad movie. That's not at all what I am implying.
Ninnie: Well you fell asleep, maybe you forgot, haha. No, okay fine maybe I enjoyed it more than you. So the best and not so good part?
Victoria: The best was really the Adam character- like you said, he did a great job and he was really convincing. I believe the not so good part is the fact that nothing completely "tragical/awful/super exciting" happened.
Ninnie: Okay. Good drama movie, not the best. Great portrait of how a person could actually experience the world differently from a healthy person. Cute and watchable.

Discussion:
Victoria: Really touching story. Great great acting- both from Bullock and Quinton Aaron!
Ninnie: Indeed! And I love the little kiddo, Jae Head. He's awesome. It's a really touching story as you said but I do think it was a little slow the last 20 minutes.

Ninnie: Oh yes! My mum cried like a little baby. So, what do you think was bad about the movie?
Victoria: I guess the bad thing is, what you said earlier, that the last minutes in the movie was kinda slow. Who should watch this particular movie?
Ninnie: Every sensitive person. I actually think that everyone should watch it to learn a little about doing good deeds. It sort of makes you want to be a better person. You should watch it if you want a good drama movie.

Victoria: If you're a "cryer" (in the sense that you easily cry to sad movies) I most definitely think your eyes will tear up to "The Blind Side".
Victoria: Sum it up, people! Really good drama movie, very touching and filled with a lot of emotions, love and inspiring people.

Remember me
Title: Remember Me
Genre: Drama, Romance
Release: August 18 (DVD, Sweden)
Actors: Robert Pattinson, Ruby Jerins, Chris Cooper, Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan
Plot: A love drama movie about two young people with different family issues. They meet, fall inlove and struggle with their own and each others backgrounds.
Discussion:
Ninnie: This is a very good example of a good drama movie.
Victoria: Yes. What I liked about it is that it's not so "perfect and pink", it's a little darker and more emotional. I like all the relations in the movie- you could really feel them. For example, Tylers (R.Pattinson) relationship to his father- which it pretty nonexisting yet very strong..?
Ninnie: True. The actors did a really good job! I have to give heads up to Tylers little sister (Ruby Jerins)!
This movie feels trustworthy and gives a good picture of what actually excists in so many houses/families.
Victoria: Was there something you disliked with Remember me?
Ninnie: Hm? Like it isn't the best movie I've seen but there's nothing to complain about, really.
Victoria: I hear you. I was just thinking about who should watch this movie, and I bet anyone who's on "Team Edward" will like this one. No, but seriously though, if you're looking for a quite emotional drama/romantic movie I'd definitely recommend it.
Ninnie: Totally! I've heard a lot of people saying that they didn't like the ending. But I did. You totally didn't see that one coming until the last minutes. I didn't like-like the ending but it was good.
Victoria: Moving on to a sum up. We definitely think this is a movie you should watch. It has a good story, good relationships and the actors does a great job.

The Box
Title: The Box
Genre: Thriller, drama, sci-fi, mystery
Release: March 17 (DVD Sweden)
Actors: Cameron Diaz, James Marsden, Frank Langella
Plot: The Lewis Family gets a box with a button on it, from a mysterious man. The offer is one million dollar to the price of someones death . They have 24 hours to decide wheather or not to accept the offer. Will they push the button and what will the consequences be?
Discussion:
Ninnie: Let me just start by saying: Baaaad performance by Cameron Diaz. She's suppose to have this Southern accent but it all comes out like a mix and it feels like she's concentrating more on her accent than the acting part. None of it very good.
Victoria: I hear ya. I wouldn't go down too harsh on her though. Cameron Diaz will always be one of my favorite actresses, but I do admit- this wasn't her best performance. Otherwise- about the movie itself: very good, I must say. Throughout the movie I kept thinking "goodness, what will happen? I have absolutely no idea".
Ninnie: Yes Cameron is one of my favorite actresses too, but disappointing in this movie. Hm? I wouldnt say it was "very good". It was exciting but I just didn't find it very good anyway.
Victoria: It was a little confusing at some points (or I'm just a confused person) but from time to time I wasn't sure wheather or not you were suppose to know what was going on. That doesn't neccesarily have to be a bad thing, it just makes you think. A movie that makes you think will always be more memorable (kinda...) than a movie that just passed you by......?
Ninnie: If you're looking for a good sci-fi movie this is not the right one. Okey I'm coming off all negative, which is not my intention. Because it is a good movie, don't get me wrong.
Victoria: You have to be alert while watching it, otherwise you'll ruin the movie - just a tip. Tell me Ninnie- what DID you like specifically about The Box?
Ninnie: Hm? Well the story is good. And in the end there's some good emotional choices to be made. Which I liked.
Victoria: True. I guess we have some different opinions about this one. We do agree on the fact that it's a decently good movie. The acting part is not as good as it could and should be. But it's worth watching.

I love you Philip Morris
Title: I love you Philip Morris
Release: August 18
Genre: Comedy, drama, romance
Plot: Steven goes from being happily married to a women to realizing he is gay. His new life involves fraud and constant lying to his new life partner Philip Morris.Discussion:
Ninnie: Okey, really don't know what to think about this movie. It's good but still pretty "unnecessary".
Victoria: When I was watching it all I kept thinking was "what is this?". Jim Carrey in this kind of movie...? Nah, I don't really know about that. I didn't really understand the deal with this movie, to be honest.
Ninnie: Me neither. I mean at some points I thought "oh maybe it isnt that bad", but really its not my kind of movie at all. Did you think it was exciting V?
Victoria: I wouldn't say exciting- more... I don't know. The only word that comes up in my head is "weird". Haha.
Ninnie: Yeah, exactly. What do you think about the actors performance?
Victoria: I normally like Jim Carrey- some people do some don't, that's just how it is I think. This movie was just wrong for him- or wrong for me to watch, I guess. The actors did an OK job, not really something that I paid much attention to. What do you say?
Ninnie: I agree about Jim Carrey. I'd say Ewan McGregor did a slightly better job. I believed him being a gay and loving man.
Victoria: Yes. I'm trying to think about something good to say about it, and I can't really think of anything- yet it's not that sucky, don't get me wrong. It's just very unspecial and weird.
Ninnie: Ok a sum up: It's not a horrible movie and it's not a great movie. If you'd like to see Jim Carrey in a different role, then fine, it's an okey movie. It's ok to see if there isn't anything else on TV.

The Last Song
Title: The Last Song
Release: September 8 (DVD, Sweden)
Genre: Romantic Drama
Actors: Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Greg Kinnear, Bobby Coleman
Plot: Rebellious teenager reunites/reconnect/stays with her father for the summer, where she meets Will. And summer doesnt go as she imagined.
Discussion:
Ninnie: Okey so this movie was over all good but it's sort of like the writer wants to put every Cliché scenario into the story
Victoria: Couldn't agree more. Some parts are really lame (though other people might find those parts very... good?) but there's definitely parts in the movie that are good. I want to give heads up to the little brother!
Ninnie: Oh yes we love him!
Victoria: So, Ninnie... Would you say that the movie was predictable?
Ninnie: Hm? Yes mostly I could definitely tell what was going to happen. I guess I'd say that was predictable. What do you say?
Victoria: Yeah, I feel the same way. There were never really one scene that shocked or surprised me.
Ninnie: What do you say about the actors performance?
Victoria: As I mentioned earlier, I really liked the Bobby Coleman, who played the little brother. He did great ! The dad was really good too. When it comes to Miley Cyrus, who played the main character, I'm not really sure. The thing is, I am not a Miley fan to begin with and it took me quite a while to actually start to like her. She did alright though.
Ninnie: Considering that she's been playing Hannah Monatana for a couple of years, you'd think she would be a better actress. Although she did pretty good over all.
So who do you think should see this movie?
Victoria: People who like really cheesy romantic drama movies. People who easily cry to movies will defintely shed a tear to this one. Might not reach out all that much to guys?
Ninnie: No definitely not.
Victoria: Let's sum it up, shall we. It's good movie if you ARE looking for a typical romantic drama, and like "the way" movies are usually set up. We would recommend this movie to everyone besides the ones that want to see a more unpredictable movie and wants a little bit extra of everything.
Ninnie: Yep, its sort of like the movie is missing that extra part that makes it memorable.
